Does Your Energy Have A Focus?

energy needs a target5-16-17

By the time you read this, I will be in Cuba. I have been planning this for a while – a chance to see a culture unchanged for most of the last century, poised on the brink of change. For the last week, I have been in the usual frenzy of activity to leave town for weeks. When I talked to a friend about my future plans, she noted that my energy seemed really scattered and plans won’t materialize in that state of mind. No joke!

That’s when she said to me – You know – “Energy needs to have a target” That statement jolted me back into awareness. Of course, it does! Just like the vision board I have pictured here – you’ll see the word Cuba featured prominently. I wanted to keep my focus on making that happen. The real plans for my future work are less obvious. Humm – I need to fix that.

So what does it mean to give your energy a target? I love this question, because it speaks to the ancient wisdom traditions that are the foundation for my work. Here is a quick review:

Your Thoughts/Plans are Energy

Everything starts out in thought form. Every idea, inspiration, creative project, you name it, has to have the inspired thought first. Whether it’s starting a business, planning a workshop, composing music, painting a picture, or planting a garden, your thoughts started the endeavor.

In my case, I have several exciting ideas pulling at me. I want to start a 501c3, develop web based classes and write a book. I love thinking about these things. I’m at the starting point – it’s going to need much more to get these ideas created.

This is the Law of Mentalism in action. It is the foundation and source of all creation. We are thinkers first.

Is Your Thought Aligned With Who you are?

With all the things I have going on, it’s clear not all of them are aligned with my greater purpose. If you want to do something really special in your life, it is often a reflection of the depth within you. It’ll resonate with your values, your beliefs, it’ll be an expression of what’s significant to you.

How we keep our alignment often determines our degree of focus. It’s easy to let everyday life take precedent over what we have declared is most important. It may be in support, but often it’s a distraction. The more we maintain alignment with our truth and our purpose, the more our thoughts have clear intention and help move our ideas forward.

This is the Law of Correspondence in action – As above, So below, As below, So Above. The more we are aligned with our greater sense of self, the more our ideas serves us and others.

The More Attention You Place on Them The More They’ll Grow

Are your thoughts scattered across a myriad of thing like I mine? I have been planning my trip, scheduling consulting, seeing clients, getting the garden planted, engaged in a busy social life and on and on. While all this is good, none of it directly relates to the important plans I have for myself. Can you relate?

We can only do one thing at a time, no matter how much we are master multi taskers. It’s clear that I haven’t made my career plans enough of a priority. If I want them to happen, they need more attention. It’s consistent attention to your ideas that makes them start to have substance.

This is the Law of Vibration – it tells us that the more attention we give to an idea, the more it becomes energized and takes the form of the consistent thought.

Specifics Give The Energy A Target

When we start drilling into the details, we are giving the thought the specificity to create a target. It needs dates, times frames, plans and details. That’s what allows the energy to reach its target.

The principal underpinning this process is the Law of Gender. Any creative idea has to have the organizational details, plans and strategies to bring them to fruition. The creative inspiration that initiates is the feminine idea, the structural plans to make it happen are the masculine implementation. Both are necessary

The Law of Gender helps us understand that no inspired feminine idea will transpire without a specific masculine design to bring it into creation.

This brings me back to my trip to Cuba. This journey will hopefully encourage me to refocus on my long-range plans. Trips like these will help support the exchange of music and ideas that’ll be supported by the creation of the 501c3 . The lessons I expect to learn will be incorporated into my work and become foundational material for the web classes and my book. Getting clear on these objectives helps me create an energetic target. I needed this lesson!

I’m be gone for two weeks and won’t be posting a regular blog during this time. Hopefully I’ll be able to share photos and brief descriptions of what I’m learning. And I’ll write more when I return in early June. In the meantime, I hope this helps you clarify your energetic targets!
